Add Channel
After opening Add Channel from your channels list, you will get a popup to enter the channel name, code, and other settings. When you save, the app uploads your slides and wires up the public channel URL.
Channel parameters
Channels power a dedicated TV URL at https://human-input.live/your-code so you can run rotating slides
(custom messages), themes, and optional Spotify playback outside of a single scheduled show. Fields in the popup:
- Name — Label for this channel in your list (required).
- Code — Short code (up to 15 characters) used in the public URL. It must be unique; the form will indicate if a code is already taken (required).
- Venue — Optionally tie the channel to one of your venues, or leave as None.
- TV Theme — Light or dark styling for the TV display.
- Slides — Count of custom-message slides. Use Edit Slides to add, remove, or reorder image/video slides (similar to custom messages on a show).
- Change Slides Every — How long each slide appears. The minimum total cycle time is 10 seconds (combined minutes and seconds).
- Spotify Playlist URI — Optional playlist to drive background audio on the channel TV experience when configured.
For show-specific TV behavior (messaging, performing, voting modes), see TV and Run Show.
Saving
Click to validate your code, save core channel fields, then send each slide to the server. If a slide fails to save, you will see an alert; network errors may retry automatically up to a few times. When all slides finish, the dialog closes and your channel list refreshes.
Click to close without saving changes.
